Pros: really quiet, clean install and look, roomy and super clean dishes--wife really likes the red light that shows the unit is in the middle of a washWill report back after we've had it for a couple weeks/months but wanted to get a first review up here for folks to respond to and ask questions if they wanted Commenter asked... Paid under 800 and install was $150 + $20 or so for hose that is required. Very clean install and took guy 1.5 to 2 hours. 2 weeks in still veyr happy with this unit. It's pricey but we wanted something good that would last a while. We have a 9 month old and this cleans the bottles pretty well and the various silicone nipples and parts to pumps etc. You need to get them in the right place by trial and error but it works well once you do. The dishes come out really clean--this machine is a pleasure to use and the wife agrees. 20 of 21 people found the following review helpful By Picky Mom (South Bend, IN) - See all my reviews This review is from: Bosch 500 Series SHX55R55UC Fully Integrated Dishwasher, Super Quiet, 14-Place Settings, Stainless The dishwasher that came with our house was very loud and it didn't clean very well. I did a lot of online research and decided on Bosch as it received good consumer reports. This dishwasher has not disappointed us. It has all of the features that we need and it is extremely quiet. This was incredibly important as our kitchen is open to the family room. With the old machine we had to really turn up the volume to hear the tv....not anymore! We had one instance of flooding in our kitchen. We found that the dishwasher is sensitive to hardwater. This caused a buildup in one of the lines that caused a great deal of water to leak out. The problem was easily resolved by the repair company and hasn't happened since. 14 of 17 people found the following review helpful By Exscotticus (USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Bosch 500 Series SHX55R55UC Fully Integrated Dishwasher, Super Quiet, 14-Place Settings, Stainless Two years after purchasing Bosch's "stainless" steel "rust-free" dishwasher with a "lifetime warranty" against rust, we discovered... rust. It was in a very specific area, where the metal filter attaches to the interior tub. We called Bosch and were told that it was our fault, that it was our water, our dishwasher soap, our flatware--anything but the dishwasher. We persisted, explaining that we use a water softener and a reverse-osmosis system and that our water is no worse, and probably a bit better, than average. Furthermore, if it was merely our water, then we would expect to see rust everywhere. As for our dishwasher soap--well--it comes from Costco, and I'm sure they'd take exception to Bosch's claim that it promotes rust. We offered our own theory, which is that the metal used in the filter is disimilar to the metal in the tub, resulting in a galvanic reaction and corrosion to the metals. Basically, the two different metals, pressed together in an aqueous environment, results in... Read more |
