What a poor performer. This washer has managed to etch all our dishes and does a really lousy job cleaning the dishes. We were told our water wasn't hot enough so we installed a point of use water heater at great cost- no change. We had their tech come out and replace many parts- no change. We wanted our money back so we could buy another washer- no help from GE. First, the smaller line of dishwashers are often priced pretty close to their full-size counterparts. So unless you need an 18" model to do opening size or kitchen size constraints, you are better off looking at 24" models. For me, the existing dishwasher getting replaced was 18" and I did not want to go into extra work to increase the size. The GE Profile PDW1860NSS showed up on my list for its size, design, and cleaning ability.The design is very modern and sleek. There are no buttons on the front as they are all located on the top, hidden except when the door is open. The front is a solid stainless steel exterior with a smooth handle on top. It's sleek and blends in well. As for performance, it has done an excellent job of getting just about everything clean. It offers heavy duty, normal, and light cycles as well as other options.
